• March 2025 – I was invited to give a talk at the School of Computing and Communications’ Seminar, Lancaster University, UK (online), about Small Language Models as AI Assistants in Cancer Research. Many thanks to Professor Paul Rayson and Research Associate Daisy Lal for their kind invitation! The presentation and the discussion with fellow researchers from the 4D Picture project and Lancaster University NLP group will be posted online. Stay tuned!

• March 2025 – I am a reviewer for SDP 2025 (The 5th Workshop on Scholarly Document Processing), that will take place during ACL 2025, Vienna, Austria from July 27 to August 1st, 2025.

• March 2025 – I was a second reviewer for the February 2025 ARR reviewing cycle (ACL Rolling Review)

• March 2025 – I was invited to give a talk at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) lab of the University of Luxembourg about Small Language Models and their performance in the medical field ! ️I want to thank Professor Radu State for his kind invitation and to all the passionate researchers I could talk to about Generative AI in medical multilingual tasks !

• March 2025 – I was a reviewer for the Orbicom – ITI LiRiC CIAREI Congress “Communication, artificial intelligence, remediation, ethics and inclusion”, that will take place from September 29 to October 1st, 2025, in Strasbourg, France

• February 2025 – I am part of the organization committee for the MLP-LLM Workshop on Medical NLP in the Era of LLMs @CORIA-TALN 2025 conference, taking place from June 30 to July 4, 2025 in Marseille, France!

• January 2025 – I presented my poster, « Explain this Medical Term in my Language: A Case Study of Small Language Models for Medical Paraphrase Generation » at the UniDive 3rd General Meeting, in Budapest, Hungary!

• January 2025 – We presented our paper « Chain-of-MetaWriting: Linguistic and Textual Analysis of How Small Language Models Write Young Students Texts » (authors: Ioana Buhnila, Georgeta Cislaru, Amalia Todirascu) at the WRAICOGS 2025 Workshop (Writing Aids at the Crossroads of AI, Cognitive Science, and NLP), at COLING 2025, in Abu Dhabi, UAE!

• November 2024 – Emergency reviewer for COLING 2025

• October 2024 – Abstract accepted to be presented as a poster at the UniDive 3rd General Meeting, in Budapest, Hungary

• October 2024 – Presentation of the Adaptmed Project at the Explor Scientific Day, in Nancy, France

• August 2024 – We presented our paper, « Retrieve, Generate, Evaluate: A Case Study for Medical Paraphrases Generation with Small Language Models » (authors: Ioana Buhnila, Aman Sinha, Mathieu Constant) at the KnowLLM Workshop @ACL2024, in Bangkok, Thailand!

• May 2024 – We presented our paper, « LARGEMED: A Resource for Identifying and Generating Paraphrases for French Medical Terms » (authors: Ioana Buhnila, Amalia Todirascu), at the DeTermIt! Workshop @LREC-COLING2024, in Torino, Italy!

• May 2024 – We presented our abstract « Semantic and Pragmatic Proprieties of LLM’s ‘Hallucinations » in the Medical Field » (authors: Ioana Buhnila, Georgeta Cislaru, Amalia Todirascu), at the AIAI (Agency and Intentions in AI) Workshop, in Göttingen, Germany!

• March 2024 – I obtained the Associate Professor (MCF) Qualification in Linguistics (07) from France’s National Council of Universities (CNU).

• January 2024 – Joined the organizing committee for the NEALA colloquium on natural and artificiel in applied linguistics, that will take place in July 2-4, 2025, in Nancy, France.

• January 2024 – Joined the organizing team for the CJC, « Langages et Identité », a Young Researchers Conference, that will happen in June, 10-12, 2025, in Strasbourg, France.
